At age 77, I began working with Richard a few months after hip replacement surgery. After 10 weeks I was ecstatic to note some startling improvements. I was able to walk without my cane, able to maintain erect posture, able to walk with confident balance (and as an asthmatic) experience great improvement in breathing. In other words my muscle strength and stamina were greatly increased. I intend to continue working with his system permanently

In April 2001 at age 79, I joined a women’s fitness center on my own(without telling my daughters) Prior to starting any program I had to have my Dr’s approval, he advised me to lose 10 pounds, as my walking partner was a cane. Eight years previous to this I had a car accident which left my right ankle hanging on by a hair. Fortunately an orthopedic surgeon was able to repair the ankle with a rod and screws on both sides of my leg. At the time I started working with Richard I could walk for only 2 minutes on the treadmill. After 6 weeks I had worked up to an hour on the treadmill and was doing Rich’s exercises but still using my cane for balance. I am now able to walk on level ground without my cane. In addition I have lost 50 pounds and 10% body fat. I am very happy with my accomplishments and feel more energetic. I am grateful to Rich for his constant encouragement and motivation, without which I wouldn’t be walking as well as I am today.

I Lost 26 pounds in 12 weeks and felt great. My body fat went from 39.7 to 30.5 and I lost a total of 20 inches. Best of all I no longer take blood pressure medication and I don’t need a knee operation anymore. Overall I feel great. I went from a size 14 to a 7 and I have no problem keeping up with my grandchildren now, even though I will be 61 in December

I am writing regarding Richard Rathof and how his services have helped me to change my lifestyle, behavior, and quality of life. In the course of two years my life has turned completely around. I was a frustrated, unhappy, unhealthy, overweight individual. In 6 months I had lost close to 50 pounds, 15% body fat, and my blood pressure dropped from 140/90 to 110/70. Under the direction and counseling services that Rich provided he instilled confidence in me to achieve my fitness goals. He provided instruction, motivation, and education that I was unable to find elsewhere. Before starting on an exercise program I addressed my medical conditions with Rich and he promised me that I would have the safest program possible. At the time I was overweight, had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and peripheral vascular disease(PVD). Rich placed me on a weight management and exercise program, which resulted in reduction of blood pressure medication, elimination of PVD medicine, a weight loss totaling 17 pounds, and a 6% reduction of body fat.

When I started working with Rich, I was 100 pounds overweight and couldn't even walk the 1/2 mile around my block. I was sure I would be the first of my friends to need an electric scooter. With Rich's help and constant encouragement, I lost 60 pounds and went from a size 22 to a size 16 in a year. More importantly, I feel better than I have in years. This past summer, I was able to hike miles through Yellowstone National Park. Since then Rich helped me prepare for, and then rehab after, knee replacement surgery. I was walking without a limp or a cane in no time. Now he's helping me lose the remaining 40 pounds and prepare for another hiking vacation this summer!
