What’s Involved in the Couch to Calvary Training Plan?

This faith-filled 12-day walking plan is designed to help you walk in the footsteps of Jesus and grow in faith as you prepare for Good Friday. Inspired by Jesus' journey to Calvary, this challenge spans 39 miles, with 7,000 steps per day (or about 2-3 miles per day). By the end, you will not only have walked like Jesus but also strengthened your body, mind, and spirit along the way.

How Did Couch to Calvary Start?

Inspired by the famous Couch to 5K training plan, which was initially designed to get people running in just six weeks, at ScriptFit we’ve adapted the concept into a faith-filled walking plan. To learn the powerful benefits of walking find out more here

We’ll take you from "couch to Calvary" in just 12 days, where you'll gradually build your stamina and faith. Whether you’re new to walking or looking to deepen your spiritual practice, this plan is for you.

How Do You Prepare for the Couch to Calvary Training?

Before starting the Couch to Calvary challenge, here are a few tips to ensure a smooth and effective journey:

1. Invest in Comfortable Walking Shoes: Your shoes should support your feet, absorb impact, and provide stability.

2. Stretch and Warm-Up: A brief warm-up can prevent injury. Consider dynamic stretching before each walk. Check out the benefits of stretching here.

3. Consider Your Nutrition: Stay hydrated and eat healthy meals to fuel your body for the walk. Aim to include a good balance of carbs, proteins, and healthy fats to keep energy levels steady.

4. Start with Prayer and Reflection: Take a moment to connect with God before each walk, asking for strength and guidance as you reflect on Jesus’ journey.

5. Consistency is Key: Make sure to walk daily. Even if life gets busy, try to fit in a short walk to maintain your momentum.
